Curriculum

We are using a combination of DVDs and Workbooks from the Hands that Heal Curriculum and supporting materials from the Mending the Soul program.

Hands that Heal: This nternational curriculum to train caregivers of trafficking survivors provides a comprehensive approach to serving victims of trafficking and educating caregivers so that they may appropriately and effectively provide care and support.
Hands that Heal is being used by secular and faith-based universities, churches and community groups to inspire people to engage in the battle against human trafficking and to train people on how to provide transformational care to survivors of human trafficking.

Mending The Soul Basic Training This training, offered in a live training or DVD format, presents materials geared to anyone who feels called to work with those hurting from the pain caused by abuse. Abuse happens all around us…sometimes we don’t recognize it as abuse. This training will provide definitions of abuse and an understanding of the distortions it causes in our lives that are far from the original design the Lord created within us. We will share not only about the pain and suffering of abuse but also of the healing redemption offered through Christ!

Those who attend will have a greater understanding of abuse, the effects of abuse, their own personal need for healing and how to safely walk alongside others.  This training also covers the ins and outs of facilitating MTS groups within your church or organization.

This training is experiential—equipping mentors through teaching and practice—addressing the following:

  • Human Sex Trafficking & the surrounding culture

  • A Biblical Framework & practical understanding of mentorship

  • The restoration process, and what will or will not help victims become survivors

  • Mentorship boundaries and self care

  • Protocols, scenarios and practical knowledge in providing care

  • How to initiate and maintain a successful mentor/mentee relationship
  • Trauma management—how to take care of yourself while caring for a survivor

It is our hope that the result will be a class of mentors that will be prepared to connect with female survivors in our community that are seeking new friendships as they begin to enjoy their new found freedom.

Space for this class will be limited to 15 people and there is a cost of $125 for the class materials, there are 5 scholarships spaces available for this course.
